Poached Eggs

I've never made a poached egg in my life.  Frankly I rarely eat or order poached eggs, but I had a craving this morning.

After reading up on how to make a poached egg I decided to give it a try.  Note: Many websites say to first put the egg in a cup and then slowly add the egg to the water, but I skipped this step cause hommie don't need an extra dish to clean

Directions:
  • Boil water.
  • Once water is boiling turn off heat and wait until the boil stops.
  • Add in a tsp of white vinegar.
  • Drop the egg in the hot (not boiling water), cover, and let sit 2.5-3.5 minutes.
  • Remove egg with slotted spoon and drain off excess liquid.
My first attempt at a poached egg was a success.  After 3 minutes the inside of the egg was runny, but partly formed, which is my preference.  I had a little accident last weekend so I haven't had time to go shopping, but I managed to make a nice, simple spinach salad with turkey bacon, blue cheese, (a dash of) truffle oil and red wine vinegar, and a poached egg of course.

Brunch of champions.  Now if only I could focus on school.
